if I copy data from base to calc all data are bold, underlined and crosslined

When I copy, by selecting all data from a base-table and past them into a blanc calc-sheet all data are bold, underlined and strikeout. How can I prevent that?

This has been an intermittent problem for quite a while for me, but seems to have gone away with the latest version of LO 5.3.0.3. What version of LO are you using. Anyway, it’s easily fixed by selecting all cells and resetting the formatting.

There are two ways to get data from Base table to spreadsheet easily:

  • Right click Base table & select Copy. The select cell in Calc, right click & select Paste.

  • Use View->Data sources from Calc menu (DB must be registered). Drag & drop table.

Either choice brings data in correctly. See this post for displayed results - click here.

You can also open the table and right click on the upper right box (gray in my case) just left of the column titles and select copy.

Tip: If Embedded DB is registered, but you have moved it (changed the path to it), you need to right click on the table an select Registered Databases... and edit the entry that has been changed to update it. (or go to Tools | Options | LibreOffice Base | Databases).

Using your method 2 above, it seems you can also open the table and copy just some data to the spreadsheet. That leads me to this question: Does this just copy a snapshot of the data? Or is this an active reference to the tables? If so, does it matter which method is used? I can see that Calc | Menu | Data | Refresh Range seems to refresh the data from method 2. But Refresh Range is grayed out (disabled) otherwise.

First method is simply a copy as of the time pasted. The second method will create a range for whatever is placed in the sheet. This data can then be updated by selecting the range then refreshing it. Further information can be found in Chapter 8 of Getting Started guide.
