Envelope page format changes when inserted or modified

LO 3.5.4.2 on Ubuntu 12.04
Using the Insert/Envelope dialog for #10 envelope (9.50" x 4.13"). When I click Insert or Modify a 2.19" top margin added to the envelope height. Looking at the Format/Page settings, the page (envelope) format is changed from #10 to User, the height is changed from 4.13" to 6.31", and the top margin is changed from 0.00" to 2.19". None of the size or position settings in the Insert/Envelope dialog are changed.

Resetting the changed Format/Page settings returns the envelope to the proper size, but the addressee and sender boxes still have the 2.19" displacement, which is not reflected in the Insert/Envelope position settings.

I couldn’t find a bug report for this problem, just one question about it here in ask.LO, but the answers don’t fix the problem. Envelopes used to work. I can’t believe everyone just tolerates serious breakage like this. How do I fix this?

@JohnD
I couldn’t find that bug report because the submitter misspelled “envelope”. The post only mentions the extra margin as an aside. This is definitely NOT a print driver problem.

See Bug Report #52926

Is this bug being worked on by the coders?

I have posted under ‘envelope’ for this prob. I looked at the Bugzilla reference above (#52926) and this is the exact problem (currently using LO 4). Interestingly, OOo prints envelopes seamlessly!

Hi @elambo, It would be helpful for you to post a comment to that bug report and let the devs know what version of OOo (and what OS) you’re running. That could help us track down exactly when in the code this problem was introduced.

Thanks!

Identical problem occurs in LO 4.1.4.2 on Win7.
