Track changes: how do I accept a change and jump to next?

Hello World!

I am trialling changing to LO from Word. I am using LO 5.3.1.2 x64 with W10.

I have hit a snag immediately. I am a lawyer and use a lot of Track Changes so this is important to me. LO does two unexpected things:

Firstly, when I accept a change, the cursor stays where it is: I would expect a choice between staying where I am, or jumping to the next tracked change

Secondly, sometimes when it comes across a sentence, hitting “accept” only accepts the first word, it does not accept the whole block of new text.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

I cannot help with your questions but be aware that there have been a number of reports of people having difficulty exchanging documents with tracked changes between MS Word and Writer where the changes, or even the entire document, gets corrupted.

See [Tutorial] Differences between MS Word (eg .doc and .docx) and LO files (eg .odt) for more information.

thanks for that - interesting link. I’ll keep plugging away, I haven’t looked at LO/OO for years, it seems to have come on a great deal since I last looked at it. Pretty interface anyway!

thanks again,
