Here’s the context:
I have a text with equations scattered around. Whenever I need to modify one of them, I’m obliged to use the mouse to launch the formula editor.
I can not (or I don’t know how to) even select the object formula using the keyboard.

If the formula is selected (has green handles) then open the context menu via Shift+F10 or with context menu key (beween right Strgand Windows-key). You need the item “Edit”. It should have a character underlined, in my case an E. Press the key and you should be inside the formula editor. Leave the formula editor by pressing Esc-key.
Getting the formula selected is more complicate. You can open the Navigator (F5). Press O to move selection down to “OLE objects”. If not already open, press Enter to open the branch. Use the arrow key to select the object, which you want to edit. Press Enter. That selects the object and puts the focus on it. Then continue as described in the first paragraph. But in default all Math-objects have a name of kind “Objectnn” and you do not know, which is the correct one. Perhaps better use the way in the next paragraph.
To select the next Math-object after the cursor position press Shift+F4. Then press Enter to open formula editor.
If a formula is already selected, then you can traverse the Math-Objects with Tab and back with Shift+Tab.
