How to solve 'Error 1704' appearing at installation?

When trying to install LibreOffice (on Windows 10) an error message appears saying ‘Error 1704. An installation for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x64 9.0.30729.6161 is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue, Do you want to undo those changes?’

When I click ‘yes’, nothing happens, the error message remains where it is. The only way to get rid of it is to end the installation which then obviously can’t be completed.

Any ideas how to solve this? Thank you!

The error 1704 is faced by the user due to an overriding of a new software over an older one that was probably installed incorrectly. And to fix it simply restart the PC and try installing Microsoft office again. Sometime simply restart works for you to fix the error.
But if this won’t works for you then this might be an issue related to registry. The registry corruption can cause the issue and you need to modify the faulty settings, data presented in the registry.

One possible reason behind “Error 1704” is software conflict issue, or the software installed in computer is not compatible in computer with current Windows version. In such case, you can fix this issue by removing the conflicting software or updating them to latest compatible version. However, malware or viruses attack can be one possible reason behind this type of error. For example, idp.alexa.51 Trojan or similar can attempt to block already installed software/processes in computer from running/opening.
