Cannot print odt files

HP 5520e stopped printing odt files but sometimes prints pdf and html files. Have a wireless connection to laptop.

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Version of Libre Office is whatever originally came with 16.04

HP printer icon initially says “connected to localhost.”
Printer queue says “Held” when I try to print a file.
But when printing doesn’t happen, icon says “printer may not be connected to computer.”
However, internet connection light on HP is lit.

Am a newby, cannot use Terminal, would greatly appreciate help getting out of this chaos.

It’s a printer installation problem not an LO problem.

Re-install the printer, test it with a simple text editor.

The HP printer has a USB port. Assuming your computer has USB connection, try cabling the two together. You can then see whether you have a problem with the wireless connection. This is often the case. But the Ubuntu forum is a good place for printer help.
