How to migrate sheets to other calc file with cell name.

Hi,
I have a master template with cell name/cellreference assigned to the individual cell in the columns. So what i need to do is that to copy this sheet with cell name to another file with formulas that are linking to the cell name/cellreference. However when i do so, the cell reference is not copied. Is there a way to solve this as i do not wish to reference the cell individually to the cell name as there are too many cellnames assigned.

Example:
Mastercopy:
Master data (Cells are referenced/named.)

Actual Copy: Formula + Old data (Cells are referenced/named.)

What i need to do is:
-Transfer the master data over by copying the sheet from the mastercopy to actual copy.

Because the master copy and actual copy rely on the cell name. So i need the cell name to be recaptured into the actual copy from the master so that the formula in the actual copy can detect the cell names.

Please kindly advise what can i do to solve this?

It rained karma. You can now upload your file.

I thing copying/moving sheet should work, right-click on the sheet tab to copy, ‘Move/copy sheet’, then you can select between copy or move and destination to the same/another/new file.

Thanks for your input, i have tried using ‘Move/copy sheet’ but the cell name does not copy over.

The thing is that when i use ‘Move/copy sheet’ some of the cell names disappear . Why is it that not all cellnames are present? And my formula could not link to the cell name due to most of the cell name are not copied over.

Can you share a sample file for test?

Hi,
Thanks for replying. I need to know how do i attached the sample file for you to test?
if you dun mind i can email you the sample file.

Hi, I just realised I don’t have enough points to upload the file. Do you mind giving me your email id or if there is any common platform I can share the file there. Thanks

With your last file cell names are copied, on the first sight they are not on the list on the ‘Name box’, but opening ‘Managing names’ they are there. ‘Name box’ list it’s updated at least changing between files.

That means i have to manually assign the cell names again? The actual list is very long any way to move’copy with the cells having the correct cell name.

Anyone have an answer for exporting sheets together with the cell names.

Under manage names the list is there but the cells are not referenced. Any possible solution to this rather then manually assign the cell name.

There are file sharing hosts such as dropbox; upload there and update your question with the URL to the file.

The text “C:\fakepath\sample.ods” you linked the attachment to stumped me. The “(/upfiles/14943236501894527.ods)” is pointing to the uploaded file in this system and should not be repeated as a text.

Im sorry i will reupload the file again.

I have reupload the file but still with the quote"The text “C:\fakepath\sample.ods” you linked the attachment to stumped me."

I have uploaded file on dropbox. Please kidnly take a look on your convenience.
