I wand to change page styles in a document, so I can use different numbering types. But no matter what I tried, libre office changes styles in pages I hadn’t selected, or it dosen’t in selected pages. In another case it didn’t let me change styles name in organizer!
Is there a possible way to alter page styles in an existing document?
bonus question:
Why to choose next style in organizer easier than current style? why not leave the next style blank and change it when it needed?

OK I read the documentation and I did the job.
I still believe the “next page” option is more disturbing than helpful. And the way the documentation suggested doesn’t work as expected!
The better way i fount to set page setup is by defining the style on the page break in witch starts.
@xbyte what exactly do you find disturbing? What functionality would you prefere?
I believe the easiest way would be, mark the page/pages → select style. Exactly the way you can mark a page and select next page style, or the styles and formating way.
The next page could just assume to keep the same style and we change it later if needed.
But the styles and formating didn’t work for many pages at ones. probably because (if I understood correctly) you need a special break to divide two page styles. And I think, by using this window, it is dangerous to change unmarked pages (it happed).
I am still not sure when the next page style is really useful and why there is a list of available styles for the next page and not for the current.
It would be also useful a way to alter a page breaks properties instead of deleting and reinserting it.
Personally I didn’t understood exactly how it worked but I think a working way is: add a manual page brake with the desired style, paste the text, mark the pages after the brake and select next page style .
