Why does my table of contents start on the next page?

When I insert a table of contents into my document, it shows “Table of Contents” on the page I inserted at, but doesn’t show the actual contents until the next page.

How do I make the actual contents of the table show up under the heading instead of on the next page?

Hello @ksten,
please check if there is a Page Break inserted in the Paragraph Style of your Contents Header.

1) Right-click on your Contents Header (where it reads "Table of Contents" in your example),
2) select the menu item "Edit Paragraph Style..."
3) in the dialog that pops up, select the tab called "Text Flow",
4) make sure the checkbox "Insert" is unchecked.

Otherwise check if there is a Page Break inserted (Before) in the Paragraph Style for the Contents.

Insert is unchecked in both cases.

Under this option Insert you got an option Keep together with following paragraph - this has to be checked.
