Spreadsheet email entries

I am doing a spreadsheet with one column containing email addresses. I do not want them to be clickable. How do I change this?

Also now that @mariosv has provided an answer that works, the thing to do next is to click on the check box left of his or her answer till it turns green. That makes it easier for the next person to see what worked. And only you, the original questioner, can click this box. Thanks for the question. I learned something from it too.

Disabling URL recognition Menu/Tools/Autocorrect/Options - URL recognition when data is entered.
Or with [ctrl+M] Menu/Format/Clear direct formatting. to reset from being clickable address.

Perhaps not the best answer, but possible work around until you find something better:

Use two fields, one for the name and one for the domain, and a 3rd field where you put them together like this:

image description

via C1: =A1 & "@" & B1

I sometimes do this deliberately in databases.

Brilliant! Why didn’t I think of that? Thank you!

Easy Treve’s solution worked, chopping email addresses up, worked like a charm.

@lindanaranjo, I can see you’re new here. Welcome. Please don’t use an answer box to comment. Instead use a comment area, or update your original question. Thanks.
