Absolute cell reference shortcut key

Hi!

I’m migrating to LibreOffice, from Excel. In Excel, there used to be a feature to flip through all possible absolute cell references while typing, such as from C6 to $C6 to C$6 to $C$6. You could do that by hitting F4.

Configuring shortcut keys in LibreOffice, I cannot find a corresponding command. Any hints?

Thank you.

Absolute reference is set to Shift+F4 (because F4 is set to Data Sources). This is quite annoying since F4 is the STANDARD key since Lotus 123…

You can change this by going to Tools, Customize, Keyboard tab.
On the Shortcut keys locate Shift+F4 and press the Delete button. Then navigate to the F4 shortcut and choose Category: Insert, Function: Relative/Absolute References and press the Modify button.

You can now set Shift+F4 to Data Source if you wish…

Don’t forget to press OK when finished!

@Pedro1 this is very good news. I will do so immediately!!!

i just placed an enhancement request.

Thanks a lot @Pedro1 !

@richbook, you are welcome  I’m sure this answer will be useful to others (hopefully until the keys are changed in LO). If you can edit the first post, could you correct the spelling in Absolute?

this was really helpful. thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot Pedro. I’m newbie in Libre Office calc. Your answer saved my time :).

Since LO 5.1, the key to cycle through absolute and relative reference combinations is F4 by default. See this comment in the enhancement request: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59418#c26
