I've just installed LibreOffice 5.3 and it's English guide (the update) on my Window 7 PC, but when I opened the program, it didn't showed me the names of the tools nor the apps (Writer, Impress). The website said that this version was stable, the one with the less bugs. Is there something wrong with the update or anything in particular? Can someone please help me? Thank you! *Also, when I opened an old document, it came out blank. image description

2017-07-21 22:33:36 +0200 marked best answer How can I prevent and/or fix extra spaces when I'm copying and pasting a doubled spaced work from another document?

The situation that I have is that when I'm copying and pasting a doubled spaced text from another document to the one I'm using and modifying the paragraphs, there is always an extra space that I don't want, which is separating a sentence or two from the paragraph it belongs to. I've read a lot of articles on how to fix it by using styles but nothing has worked. If there is someone who has or had the same problem that I have, could the person, if you have solved the problem, help me please? I'm writing a manuscript (a novel), but I decided to copy and paste the chapters individually into separate documents, that way I didn't had a mess while I was editing. I repeat: the situation is that when I copy and paste a doubled spaced text (chapter) —which is doubled spaced on purpose, that's one the rules on writing a manuscript—, there is always some wanted extra space that separates some paragraphs and sentences that belong together into another page. Please help me. Thank you so much!

The problem is that when I open the program and/or a file —the manuscript of a book that I am currently writing—, the program doesn't show me any word; it's completely blank. Instead of showing me the names of the programs in the main menu (example: Writer, Presentation), it only shows me the image of the program and a short line (-). When I open the file I was working on, it only shows me a blank page with the red lines underneath. I'm frightened that something very bad happened to the program and to my manuscript, which I have been writing for almost a year, and it's been hard work for me —it will be Hell for me to lose everything. Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone know how to solve the problem or know what to do in case something like that happens?

2015-11-11 02:42:48 +0200 asked a question Should I uninstall the last update before I install the new one?

Greeting! I've just received the update notification, but I'm wondering, should I uninstall the last update before I install the new one? Because currently, I'm working on a book manuscript, and when I did the last update, all the last sentences of every paragraph was moved into a new page I didn't wanted. So yes, I'm worried that the update would do more changes to my written work; please help. Thank you!

Greetings m.a.riosv! My editor prefers to do handwritten annotations, that's why I'm asking because I want to make it easier for the both of us.

2015-08-28 21:35:28 +0200 asked a question How can left-justify?

I am writing a manuscript, and I need to left-justify it, so my editor can write annotations on a copy. How do I do it? Is it by indent a paragraph? If it is by indenting a paragraph, how many inches or centimetres?

2015-07-24 21:11:37 +0200 edited question How can I indent the first line of a paragraph into 5pt?

I'm writing a novel manuscript, and the publisher wants the first line of each paragraph to be 5pt indent. How can I do that? And, what is 5pt in inches? I'm trying to modify it in inches, but I think I'm doing it wrong. Please help me, this is my first time writing a manuscript. Thank you!

PS: The font I'm using is Courier New, size 12.
