After restoring from a backup all my database registrations have disappeared. Which files were they stored in so I can restore them properly?

2015-01-09 18:47:06 +0200 asked a question How to recover database settings and odb files after system rebuild

I have had to recover the system after a motherboard failure. I have installed MySQL and LibreOffice 4.3 but when I open any *.odb file it is empty. How do I recover the forms and queries that were originally saved in these files?

Solved. The schema prefix was missing from the table name reference.

Yes I made sure in the first place that the user had all rights including GRANT.

2014-01-18 18:22:19 +0200 answered a question MySQL and LO Base working properly together?

LibreOffice 4.1.4.2 Windows Vista 64Bit MySQL 5.6.15

I am sure the problem is to do with the sql password. Somehow Base has the password and uses it to perform it's operations on the DB but when a copy&paste tries to interact the password is lost, ie. robert@localhost password=NO.

Has anybody actually managed to get MySQL and LO Base working properly together on a standalone Windows PC?

There is a problem with copying data from another instance of LO, eg. Spreadsheet or another Base. For example you may be able to create tables etc within Base but when copying in data from elsewhere it reports "Create command denied for user 'xxx'@'localhost' for table 'table1'".

2014-01-18 11:37:01 +0200 answered a question Problems setting up a connection to a MySQL Database

Hi Alex,

I have partly solved the problem. What the unhelpful error message really meant was "Invalid Hostname". Once I corrected this I have been able to create tables etc in LibreOffice base which do appear in the MySQL database. So far so good.

What does not work is actually getting any real data into the system. When I try drag and drop from either another base window or from a calc spreadsheet all I get is "CREATE command denied to user xxxx@localhost for table x". Yet I am able to create tables willy nilly from within base OK.

Is this a bug or a limitation?

2014-01-17 16:22:54 +0200 asked a question Problems setting up a connection to a MySQL Database

I am trying to get MySQL and LibreOffice Base working on a stand alone PC.

I have tried ODBC (errors installing MySQL ODBC so gave up), JDBC and connect directly both give "Communications Link Failure".

I can connect via MySQL Workbench and create and modify tables etc. So I believe MySQL is up and working.

Are there any log files which would shed more light on what is causing the error?

2014-01-16 18:20:09 +0200 asked a question Need to recover LibreOffice base file

I thought I had saved the odb file when exiting LibreOffice. Now when I try to open it I get the following error message:

LibreOffice 4.1.4.2 Version Incompatibility Incorrect file version.

Therefore all my work has been lost. Not a good start.

What if anything can be done about it?
