Writer, How to know what is current border line style in a table

I have several tables in my document and uses different line style for my table borders. To edit the border, place cursor in table then right/click Table/Border. If I want to edit the line width border of a table, for example, I do not know what is the current settings. If there was an option to show the border settings once a border is selected, this would eliminate the guessing in Style, Width and Color drop down list. Since we do not have it, I have to try the most probable option until the border looks like what I currently have, then start making changes from that point.

This is time consuming and could easily be improved by having an option to show current settings.

I recommend you to also look into the guides, which you can download free of charge from: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications

Please have a look at the Writer guide chapter “Specifying table borders”

Thanks for your reply, the Writer guide answers my question only partially, but that’s my fault, I was not clear enough in my original question. It is better if we set an example.

Take a cell and set top border as 1pt and bottom borders as 2pt, leave other properties as default. Click OK to leave the Table Format.

Select the same cell right-click Select Table/Borders. How can I tell the line width of the top and bottom borders?
