So the Release Notes for each release are collected in a wiki page at wiki.documentfoundation.org

You should find one for each release that describes the differences to the last version.

There are no error logs unless you have a special developer build and even then the logs only contain information that are helpful for developers. Could you maybe open a bug report? On the other side 3.5 is quite old and unsupported upstream. There were some fixes from Peter to fix some problems with recursive xslt patterns during the Excel XML import but I don't remember when we pushed them.

Then just open a bug report with a test document. I can't magically fix a problem that I can't see. As long as our automated test suite does not report a problem a sentence like: "Every file shows the problem!" is not helpful as we apparently can't reproduce it with our test documents.

He asked for the number of rules in conditional formatting and the number of filter entries. I just saw that we forgot to adapt the dialog for filter entries but at least the UN API should allow an unlimited number of filter entries.

Create a bug report and attach one of your files. We have automatic tests that check export and import of OOXML files so I can surely say that this is not a general problem.

You need a 32bit JVM. Most likely you only have a 64 bit VM installed. Beginning with Libreoffice 4.2 we will provide also 64 bit MacOSX builds which work with a 64 bit JVM.

2013-06-07 10:19:17 +0200 respondió a una pregunta Keep Calc from removing duplicate cells...

It looks like you need to read a bit of the ODF standard if you want to process documents manually.

I suppose that without having a test file you have a case where Calc writes table:number-rows-repeated which means that the same row is repeated several times. The default value is 1 which is why you won't see it most of the time but if it is there you need to just use the same row several times.

Depending on how complex your spreadsheets become you'll find more and more such cases. All in all processing complex ODS documents is not a trivial task and normally requires some insight into the standard.

2013-05-05 21:20:24 +0200 comentar respuesta How to Delete Conditional Formatting using Calc Macro?

These are unrelated. There is an old API for conditional formats that we still support. This just won't let you modify new conditional formats as these have no representation in the old API. Since the old API is published we can't change it and can't remove it. As soon as the new API will be available it will be marked as deprecated but surely we need to support it till 5.0 If there are regressions in the old API please open a bug report and I'll take care of it.

The best documentation for this is the source code at http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/filter/xml/xmlexprt.cxx#3897 Except for that just have a quick look at generated output. The content is really quite straight forward as I tried to keep it simple.

2013-05-02 21:46:43 +0200 comentar respuesta How to set Conditional Formatting -> Data Bar from a macro?

4.2 will be released in about 8 or 9 months. We are close to the 4.1 feature freeze and my list for items till the feature freeze is actually too long to work on conditional formats in the remaining time. I'm still hoping that there are some responses at the ODF change request before I start working on a stable API as I have to be much more careful with major design changes after providing a public API.

2013-05-02 21:44:07 +0200 comentar respuesta How to set Conditional Formatting -> Data Bar from a macro?

Yes calcext:conditional-formats and all sub elements are ODF 1.2 extended elements that will change with hopefully get a proper place in the spec with ODF 1.3. Until now we have to live with this solution.

At the moment there is no API for the new conditional formats as they are in stabilization phase and may require one more refactoring. At least in LibO 4.2 I will provide a public API for that feature.

2013-04-17 03:08:49 +0200 respondió a una pregunta Why does LibreOffice still have such poor formatting of .docx and some doc files despite the claims of improvement?

We never claimed that we can handle docx or doc files perfectly. This is actually nearly impossible as the OOXML standard has more than 6000 pages and the doc filter was written in a time when there was no specification of the file format available.

We are improving the filters by time. However if you have documents that are not opened correctly we ask you to have a look at bugzilla if it is reported already and otherwise open a new bug report with a test document. Without test documents showing issues it is much more difficult for us to fix these issues. But please note that this does not mean that we can promise to fix your issues soon as we have dozens if not hundreds of similar issues.

This is not a security feature. This improves the import performance of large files significantly but sadly contained this bug so we disabled the feature by default for the upcoming 4.0.3 as the fix needs a larger refactoring of the calc core.

Please open a bug report with status enhancement for it. I might take a look at it after the 4.0 feature freeze.

Sadly it is not as easy as it sounds because range names are actually named expressions and we handle them internally like that. But we might be able to store a flag with them that provide us an easy and fast access when looking up addresses.
