Why can't we upvote?

Hi!
I really try to use the system, but it is fairly difficult to say “Thanks”; “Good answer” or something else. I would be very very happy, when EVERYONE can upvote…

biggest problem is that users aren’t very generous with their own votes, people only very sparingly use their votes. 4 currently is the maximum number of votes that a question got…

Being upvoted two times or giving an approved answer will earn you enough karma to use your votes.

So to all people who already have karma: Use your votes! You don’t need to provide an answer yourself, but if you think a question is interesting and is understandable and not gibberish, upvote the question to thank the user for writing a clear & interesting question. Or if you stumble upon an interesting answer: Make sure to upvote that.

You can start upvoting when you get a certain amount of “karma points”. And you get those by being active on this site - so you will most likely soon be there

Year, but it is a long way to it ( at least now, I think if there a lot more with 15+ karma, it will be easier to “earn” it…

There should be a general “GIVE ME KARMA” thread/question for people with enough karma to just go nuts on new users, like me. Kinda frustrating not being able to either comment or upvote.

FAQ: “… if you ask an interesting question or give a helpful answer, your input will be upvoted.” — Done.

may I suggest to wait a little bit more. Christmas is around the corner… and maybe there is an early christmas present…
