Default font is Liberation Serif. I want to change it to Times New Roman.
Read the manual. Ironically, the information is listed under Fonts, default settings.

Yeah, and how to I keep it so? Everytime I shut writer and pc, default font is literally changed back to libre’s default. I think there might be a fault, waddaya think?
One solution is to create a general purpose Template with the font you want. Then save it as a Template. When you want to start a new document, just open the Template, write your stuff and save it with whatever file name is suitable (not as the Template).
Care to tell me how to settle it so it will not overwrite the template, but saves as new for default? Like my cw always opens template and somehow succeeds to overwrite that so we have new kind of template filled with text as it’s opened again…
As soon as you open the Template to use it for a new document, use Save As… to save it as the new document that you intend it to be. The original Template should remain as before, to be used again.
The “default” can be changed as explained by PaulaO in the answer above. If you choose not to, or cannot, use that method, then creating a Template and using SaveAs… each time for your new documents is the alternative solution.
