Message: Video Format not supported Impress

Hi Folks

I am trying to play an MP4 file in Libre Office Impress and getting the error message “Format Not Supported”

I am running Libre Office Version: 6.2.4.2 (x64) on a new computer running Windows 10 64 which is regularly updated

I have read some of the older posts relating to previous version but wonder if anyone has more recent information as to how to resolve this problem. I am trying to put together a simple presentation featuring some audio and a video for the day after tomorrow with limited time.

Any assistance gratefully received

David

As described at Media Support - The Document Foundation Wiki, audio/video support depends on specific components installed on operating system. In Windows case, it’s DirectShow codecs; and you are advised to install third-party codec packs in case when ther’s no pre-installed DirectShow codec available.

Thank you for your reply.

is this the appropriate codec pack?

or do I need to look elsewhere?
Apologies for asking rather than trying, limited internet access.

As to the codec pack - one (K-Lite) is mentioned in the page I linked from my answer. I don’t know if that one you found is also appropriate or not.

Thank you for the reply. I was able to download the Codecs and was able to use Impress for a Funeral today.
