MY email notifications are not being updated or saved. Any ideas ? I ony have 3 badges, 5 karma. is that the reason?
Do you mean you don’t receive emails or you don’t see the red envelope icon beside your user id when logged into this website?
Mark, I “Update” my notifications as wanted, but they are not being saved in my profile. Therefore I am not receiving email notifications. I’ve tried several times. Even stopped emails, logged out, login, update again. No help… The RED box is the way I know something has happened!!!
Same for me. Changes in e-mail settings are always reset to Never for all items.
Yes, its the same for me too, I see the red box, but cannot set up emails.
This is partly fixed. But what remains to be cleaned up is all of the users who’s email options were possibly turned off, and have no clue that they can get email. In light of this bug I asked that they turn everyone’s email on. I’m not sure that ever got done.
They really should be enabled by default, as too many askers don’t come back, or didn’t come back.
Yep, the options finally stuck, so now I do get mails. Of course, how many people have tried for the umpteenth time to find that it finally works? So yes, turn them on for everybody. That will have to be submitted as a bug report, right?
You’re quite obviously being sarcastic, or trying to. It’s better to get emails you don’t want (which is stupid when the mail is about a question you asked) you can just go disable, while most won’t bother trying to enable.
I am being sarcastic, of course it’s better to get emails, and I’m glad for it. Not getting those emails is a showstopper for very many visitors. The developers of this site should have fixed this long ago. Just think: you post a question, then you have to check in regularly to find that nobody commented or replied yet. Most people will give up pretty soon.
None of the visitors need to be offended by my sarcasm, only the people who are responsible for the mess that this board is in. I deleted your foul language and other attacks, rautamiekka, because that’s not contributing anything to the quality of this board.

Thank you for providing that link. One of the replies there is almost a paraphrase of my earlier comment. So, I rest my case.
And @rautamiekka: I meant: most people wouldn’t try again and again to see if the mail options finally stick, and rightly so, but the sarcasm was not aimed at those people, but at the developers. In other words: learn to read.
I have found the same - changes to alerts are not saved.
I reported this on Nabble (Document Foundation Forum) on 29th June but nothing has been done.
