How to retrieve personal templates

UPPERCASE TEXT BELOW ADDED BY ROBHATCH.

I have just upgraded to LibreOffice 3.5 from 3.4 in both an old Windows XP system and in Windows 7. The templates menu works in XP - I can bring up general and “My Templates”, but does not work in 7. Any suggestions? If I knew the path, I might be able to find the templates directory, perhaps in an automatic backup to my 7 files or in an active “7” directory, but could I import my templates either from backup or by attaching the file that contains them to an email to myself. Where would they go in 3.5?

IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED, THIS APPEARS TO BE PURELY ANOTHER WINDOWS 7 PROBLEM. I HAVE FOUND AN MS TEMPLATES FOLDER, WHICH MAY BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM, BUT NO *OTT FILES. I HAVE CONTRIVED A WORKAROUND TO USE MY SMALL NUMBER OF WRITER TEMPLATES, BUT I DOUBT THAT ANYONE USING XP (OR ANY LINUX DISTRO(?)) WILL HAVE IT. (ALTHOUGH I HAVE ADDED A BLANK HD FOR LINUX, I HAVE NOT YET FIGURED OUT HOW TO LOAD UBUNTU ONTO IT INSTEAD OF OVER OR ALONGSIDE OF WINDOWS ON THE OEM HD OR MY EXTERNAL BACKUP DRIVE.)

Try this link (for Windows Explorer  )

%appdata%/LibreOffice\3\user\template

This is LibreOffice’s template dir

BTW: I’ll open a bug in freedesktop, I can confirm this with LibreOffice 3.5.1.2 update from 3.5.1.0 or 3.5.0, do not know exactly… It would be nice to have such information in this post. Link to the bug: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47161
