A good desktop search tool with LibreOffice

Dear Folks–
I have spent I don’t know how many hours – far too many – I have spent trying to get Windows 10 to index my LibreOffice documents. I have given up. I understand that some people have made it work for them, but I have tried every fix I could find on the net, and I can’t make it work on my machine.

So now I am looking for a good alternative desktop search service – something that will search, and index, the contents of LibreOffice documents, and text and PDF documents, and MS-office documents, some of which unavoidably come my way. Also my own documents from more than four years back are in MS format. I assumed that any contemporary well-reviewed search tool would also cover the Open/Libre Office format. Not so. I installed Lookeen and let it index my whole machine before realizing that it ignored all the Open formats completely.

There are a lot of things that would be nice – Boolean search, grep capacity, search external drives, and so forth – but all I really need is the ability to search for a word or phrase across document types.

Can anyone recommend such a tool or service?

I use DocFetcher
http://docfetcher.sourceforge.net/en/index.html

Supported Document Formats include: OpenOffice.org (odt, ods, odg, odp, ott, ots, otg, otp)

Copernic seems to index LO files correctly, but they have just changed their model to an annual subscription, and it is pretty expensive.
