If you have a recent version of LibreOffice (4.1 or higher), you’ll have the option to right-click the image you want to compress and choose “Compress Graphic”. A dialog box should appear that will allow you to resize the image to a desired number of pixels/DPI.
If you add images in png or jpeg formats, they will be keep in this format in the ODF file.
Another way to modify an image in Writer: right clic on the picture → Edit with an external tool → do your change → save.
other word, i must edit every pic using external tool to make the pic have small size and weight. to make file writer not have big kb.
I observed that gif-files in size between jpg and png. But I don’t know about image quality when looking at it or printing them.
Unlike its brother from Microsoft, LO is not rude to decide on its own to reduce the size of the image (in quality or dimension) under the assumption that you may need to increase or decrease the file size at a later time (believe me, it happens all the time). This is exactly the same way it is done in professional desktop publishing tools like Adobe Page Maker or Corel Draw. An ODT file is simply a container for storing all the building blocks of the document.
You have two options
It is very helpful information.
i was having a problem that my images were very big in size and that complicated my presentation. I used http://compresspic.com, it solved my problem. but images are compressed one by one, i need to do all at a time.
