Why do you techies insist on frustrating reasonably intelligent folks

i am finally logged in or on: how, i don’t know. the issue is why doesn’t asklibo & bugzilla utilize the same userid & password. this need for security escapes me. i’m too old to try to remember scads of security info to access info that has no monetary value to anyone. people tell me to not record sensitive info externally but i feel this is insensitive. my experience with lastpass is equally frustrating as i failed to externally record my master password. instead of a question, consider this a change request. thanks keng

Lastpass or something similar is indeed the solution to the password problem, but it is imperative that you have offline access to the master password. There is also an account recovery function which has saved many a hide. I also back up the entire account offline for double safety. Once that is over with, your cares are over.

Refer the answer here. It appears it is not possible to please everyone.

I hesitate to even respond to your post, and I don’t mean to be impolite – but you have posted this and a virtually identical complaint at least 10 times (many within moments of each other). This begs the question why. There are a number of possible answers. Here are a couple:

  • You truly do not understand what you are doing and are asking for help. In this case, I suggest you take some computer remediation courses. As you learn, your level of understanding will increase and your level of frustration will decrease.
  • You get your jollies by drawing attention to yourself and trying to waste the time of volunteers who want to help others. In this case, I hope an administrator blocks any further posts from you.
**Let's assume you truly do not understand what you are doing and are asking for help.**

Login IDs and passwords are necessary on this site for a number of reasons, even though sensitive information is not involved. Here are a few:

  • They help keep out automated spam bot posts.
  • They help track the user's progress regarding karma, badges, etc.
  • They help track the user's history, activity, etc. concerning posts the user is watching, user contributions, etc.

Again, I mean no disrespect. Based on your comments, I recommend you take some computer remediation courses. I believe they will help you get more out of your online experience.

Good luck.

thank you. i completely overlooked the spam issue as Yahoo is so efficient @ blocking same. the multiple postings are the result of my impatience, a poor internet connection & a flake enhanced windows 7. sorry. keng
