How to know which template assigned to master document or odt file

I guess I lost track of which template is used for creating master document. I see 2 templates one with _2.ott and another _21.ott . Are there any way I can see which template is used ( ie path and file name of the template) ?. Appreciate any input.

Open the document as ZIP archive, and look into meta.xml.

Thank you for the input. I could find it in meta.xml. I was able to get the same information, if I add a field ( in footer) > template > file / path too ( CB_Template_ott_2.ott). But my original issue which I haven’t mentioned before is still there. My real problem is when I try to edit my custom template ( CB_Template_ott_2.ott) using file >new> template > CB_Template_ott_2.ott & Edit, it is automatically opening CB_template_ott_21.ott. I am not sure why this is happening.

If I add a new style in CB_template_ott_21.ott ; it is not coming to my master document.

To test it , I removed the CB_template_ott_21.ott from my templates directory and when I opened CB_Template_ott_2.ott , it recreated CB_template_ott_21.ott opening. I am not sure why this is happening. Wondering whether template got corrupted or some issue with Libreoffice or it may be doing something wrong.

I’m not sure I understand: does it actually have two models (2 .otm)? Anyway with Tools▸Options▸LibO▸Advanced▸Expert conf.▸search template name▸org.openoffice.ucb.Hierarchy that Entry & Url match.

Thank you Samyn for the path. I searched the my template file: template_ott_2.ott and took the screenshot. Here it is https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxcAy8NTN__MS1M5ZTV0ZkpjSXc . As for as i remember I haven’t saved it Template_21.ott ; I need to to use just Template_ott_2.ott . I am not sure how to fix it though. Appreciate your input.

Screenshot shows you have one HierarchyEntry (Cookbook…ott_2) whose url points to Cookbook…ott21.ott

It is normal for me that LibreOffice opens this template.

History shows that you have opened a Cookbook…_ott_2.ott. If this file still exists you should be able to right click> open from the explorer then use File> Templates> Save as template

Thank you Pierre. I did saved the Cookbook…_ott_2.ott as template. Now, when I open ( file> open) a odt file which was based on the _ott_2.ott , It is showing “The template ‘OttTemplateStyle’ on which this document is based, has been modified”, but If I insert the field( insert> field>template>file/path) it shows Cookbook…_ott_2. This makes me confused. The template is OttTemplateStyle or Cookbook…_ott_2 ?. which one to change OttTemplateStyle or Cook…ott_2.ott?

Hi

Have you looked at whether the name of the template used did not appear in FilePropertiesGeneral tab?
