LO.Calc.Graph is illegible

Version: 5.2.7.2
Build ID: Gentoo official package
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Linux 4.11; UI Render: default; VCL: kde4;
Locale: en-US (C); Calc: group

When not open, the graph is so small that it is illegible. If I select the chart (single click), I can see the handles of the graph but the graph only takes up a small part of that area.

If I double click the graph, it takes up all the space of the handles, but as soon as I click outside of the graph, then the graph shrinks back to the illegible size.

I have screen shots but don’t know how to include them in this bug report. I hope this works

Bug reports are off topic for this site. Anyway, from the screenshots, the graph seems to be perfectly visible. It looks like you need to drag the corner to resize the chart, or right-click and change the size. It may help to post a link to an example file on another site, since you do not have enough reputation points for attachments.

The graph is visible but is illegible because it is so small. I was only able to make it stay legible if I increased the size of the graph as suggested. The legend is still messed up somehow. I wanted the legend at the bottom but it only shows two graph entries per line, as if the name of the data set for each line is very long. I have used Excel for many years and Open Office for about 5 years, and have never seen this strangeness before.

I have opened a Bugzilla bug report.

Can you share the bug report number? Thanks.

LeroyG… sorry for delay in responding. the original bug, 114123, reported 2017-11-28 was marked unresolved and closed on 2018-06-05. I had been unable to reproduce the issue after I upgraded to a new version of LO. The way I worked around the issue in the previous, presumably buggy version of LO was to delete the graph, save, exit LO, re-open LO and recreate the graph. I had deleted the problematic .ods file so was unable to assist the LO development team.

How can I close this topic?

@Ax89, Click the close icon below your question, and choose question is not relevant or outdated. Regards.

I don’t agree this is and would not call this a “bug” or error in the software. That text is so small because the user has the graph sized very small. The text is going to scale to the size of the graph. Making the graph bigger will solve the operator error.

Have you seen the handlers?

It’s obviously a bug since the handles for the graph are so much larger than the graph as displayed.
