See Margins and Trim Size?

I am working on a LO Writer document that will be exported as a PDF for on-demand printing. It will be a full bleed book with photos that go from page top to bottom and page inner to outer. My photos and pages are sized to 8.63 W and 8.75” H. The book trim size will be 8.5” W x 8.5” H. The excess beyond 8.5” will be trimmed off by the printer. The margins are set to Inner .38” and the others to .5” as per the printer’s specs.

I would like to be able to see the trim size in my document and at the same time be able to see the margins. I know I can set the margins and see them by turning on the grid, but is there a way I can see BOTH the margins and the trim size?

Writer cannot set crop marks. You need to make the marks as shapes. Anchor the shapes to header or footer paragraph, so that they are repeated on every page. If you need connecting lines for yourself, you can enter them the same way. Remember to remove them before exporting to PDF.

That’s a good idea. Thanks. I guess I can make an object the size of and placemnt of the trim and make it translucent by reducing the opacity so I can see my photos underneath it. I don’t understand how anchoring works so it’s off to Google to research that.
