/tmp/mozilla_ea0/getPortfolioDownload.csv does not exist

The reason this message occurs, is because I have a link in the spread sheet to a website with specific information. When I try to download that info, I get the above message. I use copy and paste to get the figures and that caused the slowdown an graying as described in 670676, there appears to be some other info that I do not see.

Here is the proof that the above file exists:

ea@Discovery:~$ cd /tmp

How to make LO see that file when needed?

What is your “link in the spread sheet”, how did you enter it / set it up, where is it pointing to, how is it activated, how do you “try to download that info”, when is the “/tmp/mozilla_ea0/getPortfolioDownload.csv does not exist” message displayed?

Many questions. I am now using version 6.0.4.2-snap 1, this never happened in previous versions.
The link was established using cyberlink in libreoffice, it points to the Toronto Stock exchange. It has been used for a number of years. the link is activated by pressing ctrl while pointing to the link. The TSX website has a “download” function to download stock information The message is displayed as soon as I click the download function The previous version,6.0.3 worked just fine.

6.0.4.2-snap sounds like an Ubuntu snap package. Does the problem persist when trying with the TDF provided release build? You can install in parallel without affecting your existing installation if you follow these instructions.

I after some fuss downloaded and installed LibreOffice 6.0.5.
The same problem when loading the spreadsheet with the weird links.
It worked fine with the same spreadsheet without the weird links.

Also I had LO 6.0.0.3 on before and it had no trouble nor did any older versions right to the first time I tried to download the data

Final chapter… More testing, and a spreadsheet with the weird links sheet removed and a new one inserted the download worked on the test computer (a Dell Vostro laptop). The corrected file was transferred back to it’s home computer and tested… did not work, then through NFS the spreadsheet was opened by an other computer and there the download worked flawlessly.

At this point I removed the offending libreoffic 6.0.4 and reinstalled it. No better, so I removed it again and downloaded and installed 6.0.5.
That worked.

The faulty download must have set a indicator that prevented 6.0.4 from correctly downloading data.
I consider, for me, the problem is corrected, Thanks for your help.

Weird… maybe a bug that existed only in 6.0.4 and was fixed already for 6.0.5 again.

Great it sorted out for you.
