Is it possible to install LO Impress, Writer & Calc using APT without having to install entire LO Office?

I have never used LO Base, Draw and to be honest Calc too. The only reason I want to keep Calc is that I need to see Exam routine which needs either Calc or Excel.

But keeping apps like Base and Draw even when I don’t use seems very pointless to me. I want to purge them since I never use them. I find Draw very hard to use due to this site which is really fast and gets the job done.

APT is an important repository even though the stable LO updates are extremely slow. So is there some APT command where the user can install particular LO packages/apps instead of installing the entire meta-package. It would be great to know.

Calc and Draw are great apps but I never use them. I hope uninstalling them won’t have some side effects on another.

Note: Do not recommend me to install .deb packages from the website. Because I have to update them manually every single time which is really a time-wasting annoying thing to do.

Distro: Ubuntu 19.10

hi Pranav,

you might want to update your cache if you haven’t done so in a while : apt-get update

afterword, i would check for dependencies the ‘draw’ package may require.

this command will provide just a description of the package ‘draw’

apt-cache search libreoffice-draw

@uglybug I ran sudo apt update to update my cache.
When I ran the command you said, I got this:

pranav@exam:~$ apt-cache search libreoffice-draw
libreoffice-draw - office productivity suite -- drawing
libreoffice - office productivity suite (metapackage)

But if I try to run sudo apt remove libreoffice-draw libreoffice-base --purge command, it will wipe everything. What should I do? I can’t just remove Draw and Calc, can I?
