Feature request: add copy format

As in MS office, it would be good to have a copy format option (CTRL+ALT+C) and a past format option.

With Shift+Ctrl+V (Menu/Edit/Paste special) it is possible to select past only the format, the selection remain while LibreOffice is not closed.

Edited.

I was thinking you are asking for Calc.

In writer with the Format Paintbrush.

Doesn’t work for me (LO 4.0)… the special paste options are (with results)…

  • LibreOffice Writer > pastes exact copied
  • RTF > pastes text copied with line return
  • HTML > same as RTF
  • Unformated text > paste copied text w/o any formatting

Use ‘Format Pain-brush’ icon. Click on the text of which the formatting is to be copied. Then single click the icon for pasting formatting once. If you want to paste the formatting more than once double click the icon. While pasting the formatting click on the text to which formatting is to be applied. While clicking you may try ctrl+click, shift+click, ctrl+shift+click. See the results for yourself.
Pl read this post for further clarification. Once you get used to this, you may well forget MS Ctrl+shift+v. However, I agree with you, that LO must provide this option and leave the users to use which one they feel better.
