Writer: creating two sections with column split

hi,
i’m trying to make a studying notes template with this format:

         Test question here | multiple notes here,
                            | here,
                            | and here.
                            |
         Test question here | more notes here,
                            | here,
                            | and here.

if i go and select Insert > Section > Column tab, and select 2 columns. so that i have the page split with a column.

i only have one section now half the page,

     Test question here |
                        |
                        |
                        |
     Test question here |
                        | 
                        |
                        |

how do i create the column so i have two blocks of text each half page like in first example?

i found the answer

i needed to insert a manual column break to type text after the column
