Change underline lines width

I would like to make my underline lines thinner because they look too thick.
Does anyone know how to reduce the width of underline lines?

You can change the underlining style using several predefined options. Format > Character > Font Effects > Underlining

I don’t know if you can create a new underlining style.

By the way, you can also change the underlining color and use a lighter one.

@asiersar, thanks for the information about the underline style and colour, but my question is about the underline lines width.

I think you will find that the position and depth of the underline is part of the fonts GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS and not a LibO function. You would need to modify the font itself to change the underline. Printing styles tend not to use underlines for normal use, look at any book. Have you tried removing the distracting underline as an option?

@petermau, thanks for your clear and instructive answer.
