I’m trying to install the Read Text extension but I keep getting the following error:
“Add Extension(s):
C:\Users\pjogl\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\uno_packages\cache\uno_packages\lu79521ct3ki.tmp_\read-text-2020-01-30.oxt does not exist.”
I had it installed before and it worked but it disappeared and now I can’t install it. I’m using Windows 10 - 64bit.

Try to reset your LibreOffice user profile (rename it) or at least the /uno_packages folder/cache first, per discussion in the comments below and then install the extension.

… it might be sufficient to delete everything in directory C:\Users\pjogl\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\uno_packages\cache\, which would preserve all other settings made in LibreOffice and just requiring to reinstall all extensions.
There may be hints about the extensions installed (in the registrymodifications.xcu) file for example. That’s why I’m cautious with partial removals.
But can be tried indeed if it’s OK with the brand new profile (showing that this a actually a problem with the profile itself).

In general, you are absolutely right, but for extensions there are no entries in any other directory of the user profile. As far as i can see in case of extensions the references are in ..\cache\registriy\

I just checked and there are some entries also in the /extension folder, both on my Windows and Xubuntu machines.

What is unclear with this full path: C:\Users\pjogl\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\uno_packages\cache\? (or type %appdata%\LibreOffice\4\user\uno_packages\cache\ into Windows File Explorer’s address bar)

Just so that we know what is the depth of removal needed, did you delete only the /uno_packages folder or the whole profile?

Hagar. I deleted the directory as suggested by Opaque. C:\Users\pjogl\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\uno_packages\cache
It worked fine.
