I have windows XP, and I downloaded Libre Office 3.5, and This IS the first and only download of I have of Libre Office... This is not an upgade from an earlier version... Libre Office is not installed on my system, but when I go to install the downloaded 3.5 version, I get a window that says I need to "exit out of Libre Office 3.5"... Then it closes down..... I would like to install and use Libre Office.... Please Help..
May be you find help here in Bugzilla?
Did you install OpenOffice or IBM Lotus Symphony before? Since all these office suites (including LibreOffice) are based on the same original code (from StarOffice) they all share a common executable name (soffice.exe and soffice.bin)
Have you tried?
"Load Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and End any process named soffice.exe soffice.bin and quickstart.exe in the Processes tab (you can sort processes alphabetically by clicking on the Image Name column)"
...maybe similar to → LibreOffice 3.5.2 installation aborts...
LibreOffice is made available by volunteers around the globe, backed by a charitable Foundation. Please support our efforts: Your donation helps us to deliver a better product!

you (or some other anonymous - i don't really get why people ask that kind of question as anonymous) edited the question (or retagged it) without providing input to the answers provided.
If you don't have LO installed already, then it is OOo or Symphony. Stop their quickstarter or uninstall them
