How do I install new fonts to LibreOffice Writer?

recently i've downloaded a few fonts from the following site http://www.dafont.com/ it worked perfectly fine on word, when i'm chosing default font it even appears on the list, however i can't find it on fonts list while writing, and since i would like to use 3~4 fonts on this text, choosing one as default isn't an option. how can i put libreoffice to show it on my fonts list? in other words, how can i change my font to one i have but isn't on the list without making it my default font?

/user/share/fonts is where you install the fonts. You'll see several folders for ttf, TTF & etc. copy or move the fonts to the corresponding folder. New fonts will show up when you restart LibreOffice.

Excellent! It works perfect in Fedora. let me add a little detail. It's /usr/share/fonts and not /user/share/fonts. Thanks!

Please refer to this and this for Ubuntu or similar.

Check also this answer for Windows -- or just search for a folder Fonts inside a Windows or similarly named system folder.

Then, just modify or create the paragraph styles you want with the particular fonts of your choosing.

In general, please do a quick search within this site to make sure your question hasn't been answered before.

In general, you don't install fonts exclusively for LibreOffice (except for LibreOffice Portable, which has its own fonts folder); normally, fonts are installed system-wide.

For Windows 8, a quick internet search brought this tutorial:

1. Open the Windows Explorer

Click on the image to open a full-resolution version.

2. If the downloaded fonts are in a .zip file, extract them somewhere.

3. Right-click on the font file(s) and select Install from the menu.

Click on the image to open a full-resolution version.

4. Alternatively, copy (right-click and select Copy) the font file(s) and paste it (them) on the C:\Windows\Fonts folder

Click on the image to open a full-resolution version.

5. Yet another possibility is to simply double-click on each font file and click on the Install button

Click on the image to open a full-resolution version.

What OS are you using?

Try to open the .ttf file and install it. Once it's been successfully installed it will show in the font list of LibreOffice.

tryed both of them, none worked. Also, I did search for similar answers, and I only asked it here because none of what I found was of any use. They say I should use a "fonts" folder inside the share folder, but there were no such folder when i looked for it. I created the folder to see if it would work, but it didn't, so I asked here, please, coment with answers, not links, i've already looked on the foruns and I can assure you there is no answer for my problem yet.

ps:I'm using windows 8
