Daily statistics

I’m using LibreOffice Calc 4.3.1.2 on MacOS Yosemite, all English.

I have a very simple data set: column A is a date-time (YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS) and column B is a quantity (number). I would like to gather some daily statistics on this data set:

1. Daily count (how many values within a given day)
2. Daily average (average quantity within a given day)
3. Daily count graph
4. Daily average graph

I just cannot figure how to do this. Is this at all possible?

goto →Data→Pivottable…

– drag&drop datetime to rowfield
– drag&drop quantity to datafield, doubleclick and change to average
– again the previous but without change
hit ok

in Pivottable output click int one datetime cell and goto →Data→Group and Outline→Group ...(Date -- Duration 1 day)
