Change background color when marking?

Hi

I want to change the color which is in the background when I mark something in a document.

How to do this?

Happy about clear and competent help.

Hello,

you can’t change the color within LibreOffice at all. The color of marked (selected) text is a property of your operating system (i.e. the graphics toolkit) you use. You need to check whether your toolkit allows to change that color.

KDE/Plasma: via application systemsettings -> Colors (Section Appearance) - the element to be changed is: Selection Background

For other operating systems/toolkit (e.g. Windows, Linux/GNOME, Linux/Xfce,…) you need to consult the manuals.

Thank you  So you really see the change then in LibreOffice?
Hm, my Linux Mint Cinnamon does not provide this feature to change.
But Chrome/Brave, LibreOffice, Text have all different marking background colors.

But Chrome/Brave, LibreOffice, Text have all different marking background colors.

Not all applications use the same Video Class Library - on my KDE system, I got applications, which don’t use the KDE Framework, but GTK3, while others are plain old X11 applications not using any of the modern frameworks. So my statement is not: All apps have the same background colors of selected text.

So you really see the change then in LibreOffice?

Yes - if I change the Selection Background color to some red color I get:
