2012-09-25 02:43:18 +0200 Beantwortete Frage convert-to command line parameter

Here are a few more pointers for anybody else struggling with this.

This is the general format of convert-to (noting that on windows the parameter is -convert-to not --convert-to):

soffice --headless --convert-to <TargetFileExtension>:<NameOfFilter> file_to_convert.xxx

Use the link above (http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/filter/source/config/fragments/filters) to look for the filter names in the .xcu files.

For example, I wanted to convert to Excel 95 format so I found the MS_Excel_95.xcu filter and inside it has a name:

<node oor:name="MS Excel 95" oor:op="replace">
    ...

I could then try it out:

soffice --headless --convert-to xls:"MS Excel 95" filename.xlsx

(I needed this to get a non-xml version of an excel file)

2012-03-29 00:52:54 +0200 Beantwortete Frage Libreoffice 3.5.1.2 menu problem

Hi, I have the same problem running 3.5.1.2 on Ubuntu 11.04 on Gnome (not unity) at 1024x600 (netbook).

I have been trying for hours to resolve this and would appreciate some additional suggestions. I have so far tried various combinations of:

  1. Re-install - no difference
  2. Toggle anti-alias font settings - no difference
  3. Disabling anti-aliasing in gnome prefs across system - some progress, but still problematic
  4. Font DPI settings in advanced front settings - no difference
  5. Different font hinting settings - no difference
  6. Different user interface zoom settings - helps somewhat, but often many menus are still missing
  7. Different font - finally had some success setting Application font to Meera which finally displayed everything but the font is extremely small

Is it possible to set just LibreOffice to use the Meera font as at least this works (with a magnifying glass)?

Has anyone got any other suggestions as I have spent hours playing with this and I am running out of ideas?

Thanks, John
