I have a problem when it comes to .doc files. Every time I open one, it seems as if the spell check feature doesn't work. Although, when it is a .docx or an .odt file, the feature seems to work perfectly. Does anyone else have this issue?

Hi Anonymous,

A few quick questions so we can help you with your problem:

  • What version of LibreOffice are you using?
  • What operating system?
  • What happens when you try to use the spellchecker on a .doc file?
  • If you take an .odt file that you can spellcheck and save it as a .doc file, does the spellchecker work on the .doc file version?

If you're still experiencing problems, please feel free to file a bug about this problem. The QA team will be happy to help you track down this issue!
