I'm enjoying getting used to Libre Office having crossed over from the Microsoft world. I'm having difficulty searching the contents of documents.

Understood I needed to set the advanced option to "Index Properties and File Contents". within Windows Indexing Options.

However while I can see results with PDF or ODT files, I get no result with 'doc' files.

I note that the Filter Description for files with extension doc is "Microsoft Office Filter".

Any assistance much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

And what does it have to do with LibreOffice? You should ask in a forum dedicated to Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Word.

I'd say that closing this and saying that it has nothing to do with LO is not correct. The search inside files is implemented as plugins for registered filetypes for Windows Explorer. The plugins (shell extensions) are installed with software that handles those types. As LO handles those files, it's a valid enhancement request (while it's not easily doable).

Thanks Mike.. gabix, robleyd, I can search any other documents successfully, not my word processor documents - I'm guessing the problem lies in the relationship between LibreOffice and Windows. (I'd bet if I have MS Office installed the problem would be resloved.
