I am attempting to learn to use Draw in LibreOffice. I can select Text box and draw a dimension or area on the page but when I release the mouse button the box disappears. I have tried to use the F2 button. The box always disappears. How do I get the TextBox to stay visible so that I can write in it?

after pressing the F2 key, you can see that the cursor changes into a cross symbol, at that time you can click your mousebutton, hold it down, and drag the mouse over your screen to form a rectangle-shape of the desired size and at the desired position.
Then you can immediately start typing the text inside the box.
