Calc find broken

when I use ctrl-f to search for something that is there, it doesn’t find it.

when I search for something that isn’t there, I get lots of false positives.

For instance, when I search (clicking “find all”) for “mcd” (without the quotes), it finds cells containing “every 15 min” (without the quotes)

how does that make sense ?

This doesn’t make sense at all, of course.
However, trying to find the cause of this strange behaviour is not easy neither knowing your settings nor having an affected document at hand.
OS? Version of LibO?

Very strange “misbehaviour” of LibO is sometimes caused by a corrupted user profile.

Just press Ctrl+H (or choose menu Edit - Find & Replace ) and uncheck Similarity Search option
