Hyperlink moved will not link to new location

Hello,

I am running version: 5.3.4.2 (x64) of LibreOffice.
This question is for LibreOffice Write.

The method I am aware of to hyperlink a word or title from within a document to another part of the same document is to highlight a word or title and choose bookmark then name the bookmark the name of the word or title. I then go to a new place in the document and write the name of the word or title. I highlight it and then go to InsertLink (Ctrl+K). I click on the “Document” option on the left side and then choose the “Target in Document” option by clicking on the radio button located at the end of where it is written “Target:”. From the pop-up list, I go to “Bookmarks” and choose the bookmark that I just created.

Now, so far so good as when I Ctrl+left click on the created hyperlink, it takes me to the word or title that I previously bookmarked. When I cut and paste the bookmarked word or title to somewhere else in the same document, the next time I click on the hyperlink it takes me to where the word or title use to be and not where it is now.

Is there away to be sent to wherever I move the word or title when I click the hyperlink? This is especially important to me because I update my work in such a way in my document that I need this function.

Hello @Corn,

instead of Bookmark, you could choose “Insert : Cross-reference…”

( “Set Reference” for the target and then “Insert Reference” for the link(s) ).
