Why won't LibreOffice load?

I have an HP stream tablet. Only 28.7 gig of disk space. But also a 14.9 gig memory stick. I have tried to load LibreOffice 5 onto my external drive but once it gets to the Installer it shows not enough disk space. What is the workaround?

I would advise against installing an application such as LibreOffice onto an external drive. LibreOffice is huge with many features loaded only as needed, therefore you may find it laggy when installed on an I/O limited device such as an external drive.

Go ahead and install LO on the main system drive. 28 GiB of disk space is plenty for LO and many other applications. It is actually your media files (videos, music) that I would recommend placing on the external drive.

If you want a version of LO on a removable drive, you might consider LO Portable

Re your memory stick - it may be that you have other files on there such that when LO tries to unpack the install files and create the actual installation, there isn’t enough room.
