Debugging Disk Size of Slides In Impress

After adding some slides and saving as PDF from Impress I found it takes over 64M and the .odp takes over 30M. There are only 15 slides and there is no motion or sound media. One of these slides, I suspect, has an image in it that is too-high a resolution or something. Is there any easy way to get an estimate of how much disk space a slide takes other than deleting one slide at a time and saving the whole file to disk?

Have a view on:

menu Tools > Minimize Presentation… :: Steps (Intro, Slides, Images, OLE, Summary)

If the point is that some images have got too much space (answer of Mike Kaganski), so they should automatically be reduced to an adjusted resolution (and therefore minimized in space amount).

Before or after having done so you may export to pdf; while exporting (via menu File) you also can choose the suitable resolution for image export (lossless as png, otherwise as jpg; included in pdf as a file container).

cheers

Open your ODP as ZIP, and browse through it to find the images. Extract the largest and open and see which one is that.
