Have a file created in MS excel with Macros which i changed macro security to lowest in Calc now I get the message "this file contains Links to other files should the be updated when i say yes the message goes away and the file opens but does not work I only have this problem with calc if t will open and work properly in excel. so at this point since i have to use this file for my job my choices are to either pay for the MS office subscription WHICH I DO NOT WANT TO DO or hunt and hope i can find and old copy of MS office / excel from before they started the stupid subscription crap and put it on both my desktop and laptop which i am hunting for. while waiting and hoping u can figure out how to make calc run this spread sheet properly

unfortunately unable to upload the file since your system won’t allow it something about points

Upload the document to a filesharing service such as Mediafire and edit your question to include a link to the upload.

It’s the Raison d’Être of MS Office to be not compatible. This at least as soon as some features are used specifically made to ensure incompatibility. In many cases VBA acts in this sense for Excel. This may also be a reason for what the usage of VBA is encouraged so persistently. In the few cases I studied to more detail, the VBA code was just an obfuscation of banality. (To be clear: There are surely also substantial use cases.)

We are all victims of marketing strategies.

(Hope nonetheless you get rescue. Without the critical document, I’m afraid, nobody can actually help.)
