I'm formatting a book for CreateSpace. When I save the document and re open it, there are blank lines between the chapter title and chapter text. Also, my left and right page headers are messed up. Some of the right and left pages have the same header, which means the left-hand pages have the page number on the right side of the page.

In which format do you save your book, is it doc or odt? If it is doc, so mistakes are "regular". If it is odt, you should upload a specimen or part of your book for better research.

Please tell Operating system and LibreOffice version.

If you save in .doc (x) format, you can expect issues with the headers and footers, like getting the same header text throughout the document, or losing them entirely. Much depends on the quality of the import and export filters, and those are changed a lot, with sometimes bad results. So, work as much and as long as possible in the native format (.odt), and only convert to another format if can't avoid it.

I'm using .odt format entirely.

Can you upload a small sample file showing those problems?
