I have downloaded help but cannot use it offline

I noted that I could download help to be able to use it offline. This does not work. Why? I have the latest version of LibreOffice 5.4.0.

The offline help is provided as an installer in the same way as the software itself. It also needs an install. For Win e.g: Doubleclick the LibreOffice_X.Y.Z.A_Win_xUV_helppack_LG.msi where XYZA must match your version of LibO, UV the bit-width related variant of your installed LibO (for Win only) and LG [3 letters in rare cases] the language of the user interface you chose for LibO.
If one of the congruency conditions is violated - or the help is not installed at all, you can’t get offline help.

Many thanks for your response but as I said I had downloaded the pack but it was not working. I tried solving it from another users similar question which involved going into the program and cutting and pasting files from the en-help file etc. I didn’t get on well with that and at that point posted my question. However I solved the problem whilst waiting for a response. I ended up re-installing LibreOffice and clicked the Help pack at the same time. The Office Suite download first and requested a reboot. However I didn’t do so at that stage and proceeded to install the help pack. This picked up I had done it before but having completed both installs I rebooted the computer and help now works offline. I cannot be certain of this but it may well be if I had rebooted the computer in the first place before I tried messing about cutting and pasting files, as above, it would of worked anyway. When all is said and done a reboot is often a cure-all and should be the first thing to try in any event.

Thanks again for your response. Hope mine will be of use to other users.

“…but as I said I had downloaded the pack but it was not working”. The download does not install
anything.
“I ended up re-installing LibreOffice and clicked the Help pack at the same time.” This is a bit confusing now for me. Do you mean you downloaded both installers from the download site at nearly the same time? If so, it was agood idea.
The install must first be done for the main program (LibO) and when this is completed, for the help. Reboot shold not be required.
