All files come up read only. Why and how do I stop this happening?

I have just downloaded version 5.4.0 and when I go to open files they come up as read only. Why is this happening and how can I prevent this happening??

Sorry this will help to anyone to use LibreOffice. It is my belief it is a bug in LibreOffice and as such LibreOffice is useless. Suggest you try an alternative office suite like I have. No problems now!!
