When pasting flowchart from Draw to Writer, smart connectors disappear after saving/reopening

I’m trying to teach people around the office to use Draw’s smart connectors instead of regular lines, as they’re great. Office policy dictates that flowcharts must be saved with a header/footer and so we copy/paste flowcharts from Draw to Writer. Everything seems OK at first, but after saving a document and reopening all the connectors apparently disappear from screen/print, although they’re still there if you copy/paste back to Draw.

So… bug I guess? Any way around this?
Using LibreOffice 4.0.0.3.
