Cut and paste without deleting grid lines (calc)

Howdy folks.

So when I cut and paste in calc, the (manually entered/visible when printed) grid lines are removed as well.
Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

To get around this problem I am copying the stuff to be pasted and then just deleting the text and numbers from the copied area, however this is one step too many and a little inconvenient, particularly when doing this many, many times.

When you cut cells, the range is reset to the Default cell style. If you assign borders to the Default style, then cut will leave cells in the bordered state. But: 1. all cells will be bordered that way (unless you clear borders explicitly), and 2. non-default bordering will still be reset to default.
